-Chairman Fudala rcported that Mike l omenica had indicated that things were not going well in <br /> Sandwich. <br /> -Report on Cape Cod Commission Cape-wide wastewater plan and possible County wastewater <br /> authority-Mr. Gobell attended the meetings and reported that the wastewater model for planning <br /> Cape wide was expected by the end of the year. Mr; Gob ll also attended the County <br /> Commissioners meeting which renewed Andrew Gottlieb's one year contract for the Vater <br /> Collaborative. a document was released by Mr, Gottlieb seeking comment regarding the <br /> regionalization concept. <br /> Falmouth-No report <br /> Barnstable-No report <br /> Sad ich-No report <br /> Discussion Items <br /> -Status of Water/Sewer District-Chaiiman Fudala reported.that articles were placed on the <br /> Town fleeting Warrant but not on the Vater District Warrant. There was discussion regarding <br /> the method by which the articles were placed on the Warrant. Mr. Klenert inquired about the <br /> future of the Sewer Commission_should Sewer and Water merge in the future_ Chairman Fudala <br /> stated that-the Board of Selectmen had directed the Sewer Commission to continue working on <br /> the plan particularly as it would be a lengthy procedure for the legislature to approve <br /> amendments to the Water District's Charter. Mr- Malarkey read Article 30 and expressed <br /> concern about the +v ter District's cooperation with the Sewer Commission. Mr. Malarkey <br /> questioned whether the Sever Commission would havd haythe authority to eater into an agreement' <br /> and the Chair responded that the Sever Comnussloon was expected to continue to develop a plan <br /> until the Commission was disbanded. There was also discussion about the possibility of <br /> regional wastewater plan and its possible impacts. Mr. Hall noted that communities were <br /> continuing to move for-ward with their individual plans. Where was also discussion about <br /> encouraging the participation of members ofthe Water District in Sewer Commission meetings. <br /> -Status of O'Hara and Marcella Commission vacancies-Tire Chair reported that the attorney <br /> General's approval of the bylaw change had been received and that any resident of Mashpee <br /> could become a member of the Sever Commission. It-was noted that interested residents should <br /> submit a letter to the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Malarkey mentioned Bill Johnson and the Chair <br /> recommended that Mr. Johnson resubmit his letter of interest. <br /> New Developments/Existing Developments requiring Wastewater Treatment Plants <br /> -Ma hpee vipage—pursuing their omen treatment plant and discharge permit although open to <br /> cooperation with adjacent properties.
