Mashpee Planning Board <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> October 1 ,2011 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Roorn, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> CTo ORS <br /> The Town of Mashpee Planning Board mewing was opened with a quonnn in the Selectmen's- <br /> Meeting Room at Mashpee Town Kali by Chairman waygan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, <br /> October 19, 2011 and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br /> Planning Board Members Present: Chairman Mary Waygan, Clerk urge Petersen, Dennis <br /> Balzarini, David Koohrian <br /> Absent: Vice Chair Joe Mullin <br /> Also Present: Tom Fu"a-Town Banner <br /> RELEASE OF PERFORNIANCE GUARANTEE <br /> -Release of$1000 landscape bond for Duck Fond LP self-storage project-Mr. Fudala <br /> reported that a$1000 bond had been held for landscaping. lir. Fudala completed the inspection <br /> and noted that trees had been installed in the gap. All landscaping matches what appears-on the <br /> nevV site plan and Nor. Fudala recommended that the landscape bond be released. <br /> MOTION: Mr. Ei made a motion to rely the$loco bond to Duck Pond ISP for <br /> the self-storage project. Mr.Kooh. ri n seconded the motion. AU voted unanimously. <br /> Planning.Board members signed the release. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE' _ <br /> -Douglas Storrs Mashpee Commons gr away sketch-Mr. Storrs forwarded to the Board <br /> plan for the.l lashpee Greenway. Chairman waygan inquired about the land bank property and <br /> whether or not a path could be placed on the property. Mr. Fudala responded that there was <br /> deep kettle hole wetland located behind Stop& Shop,.adding that crossing lit. 28 could he <br /> problematic. <br /> Mr. I ooharian recommended expanding the green spares. Mr. Bdzafini recommended <br /> connecting to the Mashpee River. Mr.I ooharian stated that he liked the effort to connect the <br /> areas and recommended trail markings and recreational facilities in the area near the library. Mr. <br /> Kooharian also recommended the possibility of utifi ing the area near the Fire Station but Mr. <br /> Fudala stated that the area was under ZBA permits. Nor. Iooharian emphasized the benefits of <br /> banging recreational ctivi i s-to the area and the Chair agreed that it could be a win/win <br /> situation. <br /> There was discussion about the need for playgrounds as a family friendly activity at the end of a <br /> nature trail_ Mr. l ' ` indicated that a playground would be a liability so the Town would <br /> need to take it over. lir. Iooharian added the importance of integrating playgrounds into a <br /> downtown area so that the adults feel connected to the area while children have a place to play. <br /> Chainnw waygan.indicated that Mashpee Commons wasreceptive-to considering playgrounds, <br /> 1 <br />
