r <br /> r <br /> -2- <br /> National <br /> -National Development miti tion donation <br /> Between November and February several Cape Cod Commission public hearings were held t <br /> consider the-proposal by National Development to construct Bridges to Mashpee, an assisted <br /> living facility in Ma.shpee,which includes a recommended donation($22,500)t the istorical <br /> CorfM'Ssion for mitigation under the Regional Policy Pian. Approval was granted by Cape Cod <br /> Corn fission i p g March and Mashpee Tannin Board began its hearing process with construction <br /> anticipated to begin during the summer and occupancy in early 2015. we intend to return CPA + <br /> undm' to the town once this donation becomes available to the Historical Commission upon <br /> approval of the occupancy permit. <br /> 1 <br /> Pro ess on Archives renovations <br /> n Ma the on�isiners rret ith Joyce Mason, 'own Manager, and Catherine Laurent, <br /> Y <br /> Director, DPW to discuss furnishings and layout in the soon to be completed Archives Building. <br /> Commissioners are not permitted to eater the Archives building while it is under renovation. <br /> The comm issioners described ho v.we would like to setup and use the first floor, with desks,. <br /> conference table and chairs,file cabinets,etc, and the need for shelving for the` a.nneyhill <br /> historical research library and other research resources displayed and stored%n the built-in <br /> shelving. The cornrhissioners expressed need for a work area rear the back window to monitor <br /> public activity at the school house and the desire to use the old donated wooden library desk and <br /> table. The desk was 75 years old when donated by the wobum Library to the Ma.shpee Library in <br /> 1980 and has continued in use in the building since. The table carne from the previous town <br /> library before the library building at 13 Great Neck Road North was constructed. wall space to <br /> display the 1877 Cahoon and. 1858 walling oversize naps plus other smaller naps was <br /> discussed. <br /> The Commissioners were informed that a computer workstation or desk with 2-drawer file <br /> cabinets would be acquired for ourlerk, along with a conference table with chairs for the <br /> commissioners to work at and to meet with the public. Used 2-drawer lateral files from the <br /> Police Department weresuggested b M . Mason to provide additional storage on the first floor <br /> p <br /> and Ms. Laurent suggested a"picture rail" circling the wails for exhibits and displays. Layout of <br /> this furniture and workflow was described by Ms. Mason and Ms. Laurent. The basement would <br /> be used for storage for all the file cabinets,and a workstation with chair, computer, and phone <br /> would be set up in the basement. The public would.not have access to this area. <br /> File cabinets at Anchor Self Storage will be brought into the Archives Building along with boxes. <br /> in increments of 10 to assess and re-catalog the contents with new storage location and identifier. <br /> Commissioners intend to consider deaecessioning appropriate materials and discuss with tribal <br /> archivist Ramona Voters donation to the tribe upon consent from a original donors when <br /> possible. <br /> One Room School House activities <br /> Prank Ford updated us on activities at the One Room School Douse including the annual opening <br /> during the Meor*al Day ceremony on May 23rd and the Quashnet School third grade tours in <br /> May-,dune.
