Four council meetings remain in this year. Nor. Feldnian suggested <br /> that the goal would be to present the new' school improvement plan to <br /> the School Connittee at their July meeting. <br /> The Council referred back to our list of ideas from last meeting. The <br /> list included "activity' ideas rather than core values. These ideas will <br /> be worked into the pas it becomes more detailed,. <br /> 10 *.. <br /> i } <br /> 7 <br /> Joy Blackwood is currently working on a grant to increase <br /> participation of senior citizens in the school. There is a need to <br /> clearly define the needs of both groups and to connect the common or <br /> complementary needs. This could be a full #nye job in the future. <br /> "Core values" - The core values will be the adopted beliefs about hog <br /> the school will run and what is needed for that to happen. There is <br /> currently a need to develop as sense of trust between the community <br /> and the schools. Positive news about the work of the children should <br /> be emphasized. Res ect has been an issue for discussion for the past <br /> several years, Mr. Feldman recommended that we develop three core <br /> values for our school improvement plan. The council formulated the <br /> following: <br /> L "It takes a com nunit3r to educate a child' <br /> Ms, Blackwood and FIs. well will explore this possibility and <br /> :rag <br /> seek feedback from others. <br /> 2. " n understanding of good citizenship will. foster a positive <br /> and supportive school climate." <br />' Vis. o' Brien and M s Di nizi o will explore this possibility and seek <br /> feedback from others. <br />
