Marie Stevenson, Gail Wilson, Winnie Johnson-Graham, Elana Doyle, Louis <br /> Horner, Lynne Waterman, Katherine Brown <br /> Also Present: Kim Landry-Affirmative Action Officer John Cotton-Selectman Liaison <br /> Absent: Patty DeBoer, JoAnn Nadeau, Xavier Gonsalves (Non-Voting Member) <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairwoman Stevenson at 10:00 a.m. The roll was called. <br /> The minutes were drafted from a recording that was of poor quality and difficult to hear. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 9, 2018 <br /> There were no proposed changes <br /> MOTION: Ms. Waterman made a motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Wilson seconded the <br /> motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> None at this time <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> None at this time <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> MIDC Listing on Town Web Page-Chairwoman Stevenson reported that the MIDC listing <br /> was now located on Mashpee's web page, including supporting documentation such as the policy. <br /> Regarding contact information, no phone number has been identified but an email address, <br /> has been established. <br /> f (99 Y <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Guest Speaker, Chief of Police, Scott Carline-The Chair discussed prior guest speakers that <br /> had presented at prior meetings and introduced Chief of Police Scott Carline, <br /> Chief Carline noted that he had reviewed the Committee's website and had seen similarities <br /> between his work and the goals of the Committee. The Chief described his two-pronged approach to <br /> build public trust, communication and respect between the community and the police. The Chief <br /> discussed being honest and their efforts to always be working toward improvements. The Chief <br /> discussed a number of their programs,National Night Out, programs for kids, Big Brother/Big Sisters, <br /> Citizen Police Academy and a sexual assault resistance program. There was question as to whether <br /> there were female police officers involved with the programming and the Chief confirmed that there <br /> was, as well as a female advocate, Tara Carline. Chief Carline also described their work with Nami <br /> and a strong relationship they have developed with the schools. Brett Calhoun was serving as the <br /> School Resource Officer. The Police Department has also worked with the Mashpee Substance Use <br /> Task Force, Ms. Johnson-Graham emphasized the opiate problem as an issue that needed to be <br />
