Minutes of Meeting <br /> Design Review Committee <br /> Held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Other Business: <br /> Mr. Mendoza addressed the committee stating he had a discussion with the Town Planner <br /> to come up with a set of rules, regulations, and guidance for the committee to have a more <br /> concrete process to follow for the Design Review committee. He would like to get each <br /> committee member to put together a check list of definitive items that the committee would <br /> be able to control in Town. He made some suggestions that involved a particular look along <br /> the"gateways" leading into Town on Rte. 151, Rte. 28, and Rte. 130. <br /> For example, Rte. 130 is a mix of both residential and commercial. He mentioned that a lot <br /> of the signage along Rte. 130 is made out of wood except for one place. He believes that <br /> the signage should be consistent with the neighborhood. What would the committee <br /> suggest; such as colors, landscaping, architectural looks, and signage. Mr. Mendoza gave <br /> another example; such as the new sub-division on Evergreen Circle that is mostly <br /> industrial, but faces residential. What would be the look that would be appealing to the <br /> neighborhood? <br /> Mr. Mendoza said that the Design Review committee is an advisory committee, but the <br /> bylaws were written so long ago there's no consistent language. He would like to see the <br /> committee have a stronger voice. He had mentioned that the Town Planner had some <br /> suggestions as well, but he did not attend the meeting to discuss with the committee. This <br /> would be a combined effort project to turn over to the Town Planner to review. The Town <br /> Planner would submit the ideas to the Planning Board, and then to Town Meeting in <br /> October 2019. <br /> Mr. Cummings made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Furbush seconded. All were in favor.
