For Conservation she <br /> will improve and expand upon the existing Mashpee Land Stewards Program and Herring <br /> Count Program. For the Department of Natural Resources, she will work on establishing a <br /> new volunteer program to assist with shellfish management. <br /> Katelyn noted they have scheduled 4 work days with Americorps in the upcoming months <br /> focusing on herring run and trail maintenance. <br /> Katelyn updated the Land Stewards Program. She said they had 5 stewards helping with <br /> the pollinator garden maintenance this past week and there will also be a Clean UP Day <br /> on November 10 and will be asking the volunteers if they are interested. <br /> Katelyn said she and Makayla will be pursing other town's volunteer programs to improve <br /> ours in Town to get more volunteers. She said they will be hiring a company to install a <br /> split rail fence at Santuit Pond. <br /> She said she and the Agent hosted the Falmouth High School AP Environmental Science <br /> today at the John's Pond Fish Ladder and Quashnet Bogs, reviewing the purpose and <br /> management of the ladder, life histories of river herring and the herring count program. <br /> The Agent also went over the Upper Quashnet Restoration efforts and the history of the <br /> area and need for the work. <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Dalton.
