COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> MEETING MAY 9, 2018 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Jean Noussee, Marijo Gorney, <br /> Virginia McIntyre, Norah McCormick, Mary Gaffney, Council on Aging Director <br /> Lynne Waterman and Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: April 11, 2018 <br /> Motion: Jean Noussee moved to approve the April 11, 2018 minutes, seconded <br /> by Virginia McIntyre. Vote unanimous 6-0 <br /> Public Comment— None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Director's Report <br /> The Director distributed her report for the month of April. She highlighted several <br /> ongoing activities. She noted that she and the Outreach Coordinator met with the staff <br /> from two local skilled nursing facilities to discuss future programs and also met with a <br /> karate instructor to discuss future classes. <br /> The Minibus Driver, Director, and Outreach Coordinator met for their monthly meeting. <br /> A new substitute Minibus Driver started his duties in April and received orientation and <br /> attended the CCRTA's annual training classes along with our permanent drivers. <br /> The Director thanked DPW who facilitated the replacement of one of the water heaters <br /> and completed the annual cleaning of the floors. <br /> The Director announced that the Outreach Coordinator is retiring in June and thanked <br /> her for her years of service and noted the position is being posted by the town. <br /> The Director noted she attended Massachusetts Councils on Aging's Workplace Safety <br /> Training for Cape Cod Councils on Aging staff. She thanked the Mashpee Police <br /> Department staff who conducted the ALICE training for all COA staff in April. <br /> The.Director stated she attended several meetings which included staff meeting, <br /> COAST (Cape Cod Senior Center Directors), Department Head, Affirmative Action <br /> Committee, Mashpee Human Services Committee, and Board of Directors, Parkinson's <br /> Support Network of Cape Cod. <br />
