COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES MEETING MAY 9, 2018 MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Jean Noussee, Marijo Gorney, Virginia McIntyre, Norah McCormick, Mary Gaffney, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman and Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins APPROVAL OF MINUTES: April 11, 2018 Motion: Jean Noussee moved to approve the April 11, 2018 minutes, seconded by Virginia McIntyre. Vote unanimous 6-0 Public Comment— None COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE Director's Report The Director distributed her report for the month of April. She highlighted several ongoing activities. She noted that she and the Outreach Coordinator met with the staff from two local skilled nursing facilities to discuss future programs and also met with a karate instructor to discuss future classes. The Minibus Driver, Director, and Outreach Coordinator met for their monthly meeting. A new substitute Minibus Driver started his duties in April and received orientation and attended the CCRTA's annual training classes along with our permanent drivers. The Director thanked DPW who facilitated the replacement of one of the water heaters and completed the annual cleaning of the floors. The Director announced that the Outreach Coordinator is retiring in June and thanked her for her years of service and noted the position is being posted by the town. The Director noted she attended Massachusetts Councils on Aging's Workplace Safety Training for Cape Cod Councils on Aging staff. She thanked the Mashpee Police Department staff who conducted the ALICE training for all COA staff in April. The.Director stated she attended several meetings which included staff meeting, COAST (Cape Cod Senior Center Directors), Department Head, Affirmative Action Committee, Mashpee Human Services Committee, and Board of Directors, Parkinson's Support Network of Cape Cod.
