MINUTES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 201.8 OCKWAY MEETING ROOM MASHPEE TOWN HALL 6:00 p.m.—Convene Meeting in Open Session Members Present: Carol Sherman,Denise Dutson,Pamela McCarthy,Robyn Simmons, Patrice Pimental Absent: Gene Olson 1. Call Meeting to Order Chairman Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:00 2. Approval of Minutes--April 24, 2018 Motion: Pamela McCarthy moved to approve the April 24,2018 minutes, seconded by Patrice Pimental. Vote unanimous 5-0 3. New Business Review Seasonal Sign Code for May Town Meeting The Chair distributed the current Sign Bylaw—Article X and the proposed amendment Section 174-57 Seasonal Signs to be included for a vote at the May Town Meeting, The Board reviewed the amendment and made several changes: Change Seasonal Signs to Tourist Season Signs Change Date that such signs are allowed from March 1 to April 1 Add"will be given" following the sentence that reads"Upon Design Review Committee review, a permit from the Building Department ..... Add"no fee". Change all references to Seasonal to Tourist Season Signs Under Section 174-57A, 42, Add the word"signs" following the words"Sandwich signs"plus add"per sign" following"24 inches by 36 inches". Under Section 174-57 B Location, add the words"sight view" Under Explanation: change "summer months"to "tourist season signs" The Chair noted this was taken off the October town meeting because of inconsistencies and will be voted at the May Town Meeting. The fines will be: First offense warning, Second offense $50 per sign, per day, Third offense $100 per sign,per day and if the business doesn't pay the fine, they will be going to court. The Seasonal Sign Code will be reviewed at the next meeting. 4. Old Business Discussion—SCORE Workshop with Businesses
