MASHPEE ENVIRONMENTAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> May 9, 2018 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> Present: Michael Talbot, Andrew Gottlieb, Dale McKay, Rick York, Ashley Fisher <br /> Absent: Katelyn Cadoret, Tom Hoppensteadt, Joe Cummings, Andrew McManus <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES — February 14, 2018 <br /> Motion: Andrew Gottlieb moved to approve the February 14, 2018 minutes, <br /> seconded by Dale McKay. 3-0-1 with Mr. York abstaining <br /> COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE -- None <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Revitalization of the Mashpee Community Gardens: MEC and Town Participation <br /> The Chair noted he sent the members a draft of Mashpee Community Gardens <br /> Advisory Committee. He said town management through this town committee will be <br /> responsible for the gardens and in the meantime we are trying to get together some <br /> type of clean up for the gardens to get rid of the weeds. <br /> Single Use Plastic Bag Ban Bylaw: Update on Store Notification, Implementation <br /> and Enforcement of Bylaw. <br /> The Chair stated he sent the APCC a notice regarding supporting the nip bottles ban. <br /> The other issue that came up is that Provincetown passed a bylaw on a ban on the <br /> plastic straws and plastic cups. He said he would like to get more information from <br /> Provincetown on their bylaw who was the first town in the Commonwealth to pass this <br /> bylaw. He suggested investigating this further. <br />
