MASHPEE CABLE AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY BOARD (MCAT) <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br /> NOVEMBER 13, 2018 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Andy Eliason,Lolita McCray and Dan Riley <br /> Absent: Morgan Peters,Ken Hannaford <br /> Also Present: IT Director David DelVeechio, Bill Nay, General Manager, Mashpee TV <br /> 1. The Chair opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. <br /> 2. Minutes: Approve Minutes of August 14,2018 <br /> Dan Riley suggested a couple of changes: correct spelling of Comcast and change "appropriate parties" <br /> to "Town Clerk". <br /> Motion: Lola McCray moved to approve the minutes of August 14, 2018 as amended, seconded by <br /> Dan Riley. Vote unanimous 3-0 <br /> 3. Comments from Town Manager's Office, if any <br /> Dan Riley stated at the last meeting it was suggested that there be participation from the town manager's <br /> office when we discuss the budget process because of their initiative to make the process more formal. <br /> Dave DelVecchio stated he didn't get the pricing for the new projectors but would get the pricing before <br /> the next meeting and noted it will need to be funded by MCAT. <br /> Dave said he previously received approval for funds from MCAT to put equipment in Open Cape <br /> location as a disaster recovery process and he did that last week. He said we lease space in their server <br /> room. <br /> 4. Election of Officers <br /> Andrew Eliason stated he felt it was time that the committee appoint a new chairperson. <br /> Motion: Lola McCray moved that Dan Riley be appointed as Chairperson to the MCAT and <br /> Andrew Eliason as Vice Chairperson, seconded by Dan Riley. Vote unanimous 3-0 <br /> 5. Discussion of preparations for the License Renewal <br /> There was a discussion on the franchise related cost on the Comcast paper bill and the differences in the <br /> costs between the towns. Andrew noted the costs are passed through and it has been our assumption that <br /> the franchise costs were very similar to the neighboring communities. The committee noted a <br /> representative from Comcast hasn't attended their meetings in a long time. Andrew stated he would <br /> forward through email to the members the info he has on the licensing. It was noted there is a little less <br /> than three years away from the licensing. <br />
