Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> June 6, 2017 at :30 pm <br /> 11ashpee Town Hall <br /> Present,: Chairman Walter Abbott, Allan Isbitz, Bruce Willard <br /> Absent: Berkeley Johnson, Marie Stone <br /> CALL To ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 7:06 p.m, with a quorum and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES-April 4, 201' <br /> Town Planner Tom Fudala had corrected the minutes regarding Northbridge, confirming that the Cape Cod <br /> Commission had required affordable units and not the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Mr. Isbitz made a motion to accept the minutes as amended. lir. Willard seconded the motion. All voted <br /> unanimous) + <br /> OLDIU INE'SS <br /> 950 Falmouth load Feasibility Study-The Chair stated that he was awaiting word fi-ons Assistant <br /> Town Manager Nfi-. Taylor for an update. Mr. Isbitz reported that Horsley Witten"s schedule was expected to <br /> begin at the end of May. <br /> Town Meeting Transfer of 209 Old Barnstable & 950 Falmouth Road to-the Affordable Housing <br /> :`rust-The Chair heard that the land had been transferred but that there was no additional information available. <br /> Funding Issue-The Chair was awaiting an update from Mr. Taylor, Chairman Abbott indicated that no <br /> funds had been received from the Cape Cod Commission. It was unclear whether the funds had been requested. <br /> There was also no information available about setting aside the 10% dedicated affordable housing CPA funds <br /> for the Affordable Housing Frust, <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Dedication of Habitat House on orchard Road,April 22, 201 -The Chair and Mr. Fudala attended <br /> the event. <br /> otuit load Project-Domingo Pina expressed interest in building a possible 40B project on Cotuit <br /> Road and met with the Chair and Mr. Isbitz to discuss, as well as with lair. Fudala. Mr. Fina was a former <br /> ashpee resident and was in possession of home that had been used as a rental. Mr. Fina has had an architect <br /> work on ideas, including the possibility of an 8-building cluster style, possibly made up of duplexes. The Chair <br /> connected Mr. Pina with Laura Shufelt and indicated that the Committee would endorse the project. Mr, Isbitz <br /> confirmed that they expected to hear more information in 3-4 weeks, adding that it appeared to be a decent <br /> project. <br /> Habitat for Humanity Land-Chairman Abbott suggested having each-Committee member review and <br /> assess the available town tax taking lands to identify potential sites for additional Habitat for Humanity housing. <br /> Ifland was identified as suitable for Habitat, the Chair would suggest further discussion with the organization <br /> and pursuing the land through. Town Meeting. <br /> Quorum Issues & Marie Stone's Position-The Chair indicated that he had reached out to Ms. Stone on <br /> a few occasions regarding concerns about the Committee meeting quorum. The Board of Selectmen would <br /> soon be appointing members to the Committee. There was question regarding how hest to address concerns as <br /> it was necessary for Committees to be able to meet, with a quorum. It was suggested that Mr. Taylor follow up <br />
