MINUTE, SEPTEMBER 28,2017 <br /> MASHPE4 E AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE <br /> MASHPEE TOV N HALL 2:00 p.m6 <br /> Present: Robert wooldh idge, Sidney Davis, King.Landry, Jamie Curley <br /> Called to order: The meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. by Chairman Robert Wooldridge <br /> Approval of Minutes November 16, 201 <br /> Motion* Sidney Davis moved to approve the minutes of May 17, 2017 seconded by Robert <br /> Wooldridge vote ^o with lira Landry and Jamie Curley abstaining <br /> Welcome to our newest member, Jamie Curley, Director of Special Education for Mashpee <br /> Public Schools <br /> The Chair introduced and welcomed the newest member to ADA Jamie Curley, Director of <br /> Special Education for Mashpee Public Schools. <br /> Status of Reappointments and Signing Town Clerk Boob. <br /> The Chair noted when the Board of Selectmen did the re-appointments for this year they <br /> designated Sidney Davis as an alternate whereas he was a full time member last year. <br /> Motion: Kim Landry moved to recommend to the Board of Selectmen to appoint Sidney <br /> Davis as a full time member, seconded by Jamie Curley, vote unanimous 4-0 <br /> The Chair also noted Charlie Maintains has been designated as an alternate for Mile Mendoza. <br /> He is still awaiting the official determination of that appointment from the Town Managers <br /> Office. <br /> The Chair stated the ADA Committee has a full time vacancy to be filled and requested that the <br /> members notify anyone they may know who may be interested. Anyone interested would need <br /> to send a letter of interest to the Selectmen's Office. <br /> Discuss outreach to home buildin /renovation companies and their willingness to help <br /> residents with accessibility problems in their homes. <br /> The Chair stated Mike Mendoza has suggested a useful project the ADA Committee could get <br /> involved in is to provide assistance to residents who need a modification to their home i.e. ramp, <br /> wider doorway, etc. to improve accessibility. Maybe link them to a builder who may be willing <br /> to help out. Sidney Chase stated he will be developing a notice for stores such as Botellos and <br /> Home Depot that can be posted soliciting their help. It was also noted that such a notice would <br /> have to be approved by the Town Manager"s office. Jamie Curley suggested contacting the <br /> Cape Cod Tech or Mashpee Students to see if they might help with such community based <br />
