Board of Selectmen Minutes February 10, 1937 COMMMCATIOM AND MRRESEQInEN E I n from Fn n Rgmruve Pro m Communication was received from Robert Antonucci, Commissioner of Education dated January 28, 1997 announcing that Ma tepee has been awarded$190,000 from the Foundation Deserve Program for fiscal year 1997. The purpose of the award is to provide additional funding for educational services, beyond what is rewired under the Commonwealth's Education Reform Lay. Mr.Whritenour indicated that funds will be utilized in the FY98 budget. Selectman Caffyn suggested the Town re-apply for funding. It was noted that Governor Weld has set aside funds for growth communities. DeDarneant of Fine Sem*ces._reGranj Award: Communication was received from the Departrnent of Fire Services dated January 31, 1397 announcing that Ilshpee has been approved for funding under the Underground Storage Tank Petroleum Product Cleanup Fund program. The Town shall receive a maximum of 0 of all eligible costs incurred, not to exceed, $3,650 indicated Mr. Whritenour. Correspondence from Director of Public Works re: Great ITe&RiSguth Resurfacing: Greg"Taylor,Director of Public Works submitted communication to the Board dated February 3, 1937 announcing that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has agreed to fund 100% of resurfacing, upgrading of drainage structures, and safety improvements along the entire length of Great Neck Road South from Red Brook Road to the l lash ee rotary. The estimated value for a leveling course, binder course,top course of asphalt, drainage improvements and shoulder improvements is$716,000. The Board directed Mr. Whritenour to submitletter of appreciation to Representative whir, Senator Iauschenbach, and Robert Sherman and Mr. Taylor on behalf of the Board of Selectmen.
