Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 10, 1937 <br /> COMMMCATIOM AND MRRESEQInEN E <br /> I n from Fn n <br /> Rgmruve Pro m <br /> Communication was received from Robert Antonucci, Commissioner of <br /> Education dated January 28, 1997 announcing that Ma tepee has been <br /> awarded$190,000 from the Foundation Deserve Program for fiscal year <br /> 1997. <br /> The purpose of the award is to provide additional funding for educational <br /> services, beyond what is rewired under the Commonwealth's Education <br /> Reform Lay. <br /> Mr.Whritenour indicated that funds will be utilized in the FY98 budget. <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggested the Town re-apply for funding. It was noted <br /> that Governor Weld has set aside funds for growth communities. <br /> DeDarneant of Fine Sem*ces._reGranj Award: <br /> Communication was received from the Departrnent of Fire Services <br /> dated January 31, 1397 announcing that Ilshpee has been approved for <br /> funding under the Underground Storage Tank Petroleum Product <br /> Cleanup Fund program. <br /> The Town shall receive a maximum of 0 of all eligible costs incurred, <br /> not to exceed, $3,650 indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br /> Correspondence from Director of Public Works re: Great ITe&RiSguth <br /> Resurfacing: <br /> Greg"Taylor,Director of Public Works submitted communication to the <br /> Board dated February 3, 1937 announcing that the Commonwealth of <br /> Massachusetts has agreed to fund 100% of resurfacing, upgrading of <br /> drainage structures, and safety improvements along the entire length of <br /> Great Neck Road South from Red Brook Road to the l lash ee rotary. <br /> The estimated value for a leveling course, binder course,top course of <br /> asphalt, drainage improvements and shoulder improvements is$716,000. <br /> The Board directed Mr. Whritenour to submitletter of appreciation to <br /> Representative whir, Senator Iauschenbach, and Robert Sherman and <br /> Mr. Taylor on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. <br />
