For disclosure, <br /> Mr.McQuaid presented a petition of ten signatures in request of a <br /> Public Involvement Plan for the Augat remediation process. Mr. McQuaid <br /> stated that he would like DEP to carry out the Public Involvement Plan. <br /> IVIS. Papadopoulos indicated that the site must be tier classified for the <br /> DEP to hold a Public Involvement Plan. leis. Papadopoulos stated that the <br /> public has had an opportunity to make comment on the process. Selectman <br /> Caffyn disputed that statement. <br /> Selectman Marsters recommended the Board of Selectmen schedule a <br /> Public Hearing on this matter in mid to late March after the independent <br /> research and assessment review process. lis. Papadopoulos agreed. <br /> Selectman Costa opened this matter to obtain public comment. <br /> Beverly Kane,a citizen of 1 lashpee, and member of the Mashpee <br /> Environmental Coalition (MEC) stated that the DEP is expected to be <br /> responsive to the concerns of the public, and agreed with the need for an <br /> open hearing to further address this matter. <br /> Ms. Kane asked if natural attenuation is the process which allows a <br /> contaminated plume to travel to its destination by letting nature take its <br /> course? <br />
