{s <br /> Page 6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 6, 1997 <br /> FY98 BUDGET WORKSHOP: <br /> Board ofHealth: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the sun of <br /> $75,635,00 in the budget figure of the Board of Health <br /> under professional and technical services. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman 1 larst rs, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the Trash Expense budget of the <br /> Board of Health. Mr. McQuaid indicated that the sum of$41,800 has <br /> been allocated to provide the services of Weston and Sampson to conduct <br /> State mandated inspections necessary for the closure of the landfill. <br /> It was noted that the expense will be removed from the budget upon <br /> completion. <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommended to go out to bid for engineering <br /> supervisory services for the closure of the'Town landfill. <br /> It was noted that the local transfer station contract will be placed out to <br /> bid in fiscal year 1998. <br /> Nft.McQuaid proposed to reduce the trash recycling expense line item <br /> to$15,000, and hazardous waste line item to reflect the sum of$7,500. <br /> The budget was reduced by $7,500 respectively. <br /> OLD _ SASS <br /> „D Comd Hoc , �5 „=Upda e: <br /> Selectman I ini io, Chairman of the Selectmen's I CPC Meering Cottee <br /> discussed the proposed makeup of the committee with the Burd of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Diimffizio recommended the conum'ttee be comprised of <br /> various citizens who are elected or appointed to Town board's and <br /> committee S. <br /> Selectman I ini io suggested to include members from the Planning <br /> Board, Conservation Commission, Board of Appeals and Board o <br /> Health to assist in the review of the proposed nomination of the Mashpee <br /> River and Shoestring Bay subwatersheds as a District of Critical Planning <br /> Concern. <br /> Town officials should be allowed to participate in discussions when <br /> necessary,but not drive policy recommended Selectman Dinio, It is <br /> also important to schedule Public Hearings for community input and <br /> consult the Cape Cod Commission for technical expertise. <br />
