Page <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minute <br /> March 6, 1997 <br /> BIMQET WORKS P <br /> DeDartment-of Public Wor (continued) <br /> The maintenance of the 1lashpee rotary beautification project was <br /> discussed. It was noted that if grant funding is attained, the first year <br /> Of m amOtenance will be assumed by the State, <br /> Mr. Taylor requested the Board consider appropriating funds for the <br /> purpose of sweeping all roads after the winter season. The suer o <br /> $30,000 has been requested for this purpose. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to further review this matter. <br /> The last initiative proposed by the Director of Public works would <br /> increase the emergency repair to private roads account. 11r. Taylor <br /> has requested an additional $5,000 for this account. <br /> The above matter will be further determined by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Recess: 4:25 p.m. Meeting Resumed: 4:30 p.m. <br /> Board of Health: <br /> Board of Health Agent,Elias McQuaid and Board of Health Ch ` , <br /> Bob Cram were present to discuss the FY98 budget with the Selectmen. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to Duman Service contracts that are <br /> reflected in the Board of Health's budget under professional and technical <br /> services. <br /> Mr. McQuaid requested the Board appropriate the sura of$75,635 for the <br /> purpose of funding health services. It was noted that Cape Cod Child <br /> Development, Independence Douse,Battered Women Legal Services, and <br /> the V A Family Quest services are in need of additional funding. The <br /> Board of Health has also proposed the sura of$5,000 be allocated to this <br /> account for laboratory services which include water testing. <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that Board of Selectmen's ad hoc subcommittee <br /> is presently reviewing specific service requirements relative to human <br /> services needs and expenditures. A recommendation and report will soon <br /> be submitted to the Board of Selectmen and Board of Health informed <br /> Selectman Ca f n. <br />
