SIB M
Corporate
Connectvity
Resources,
Inc.
March 1, 1997
Jim Byrne
Andrew Chartwell & Co.
P.O. Box 1 168
ahpee, MA 02649
RE: Ma tepee High School video Distribution System Change Order Proposal 031897
Dear Mr. Byrne,
This letter is to recommend approval of the attached HB Communications Quotation In the amOUnt of
$5,550.00.
The proposal consists oftw channel filter Units and one amplifier. The two channel units are required
to provide open channels within the school for the video di tributi n AMM System. The simplifier- i
required to bring the cable Tv feed up to the level of the video distribution system and insure proper
distribution throughout the school.
In January of 1996, Continental Cable had committed to providing on-site amplification as required to
boost the cable TV company feed and provide stripping of premium channels to allow free channels
within the school. In 1996, Congress passed the Telecommunications Act and the cable Tv and
telecommunications industry was further deregulated. This deregulation and increased competition in
the cable market has prompted cable companies to withdraw all voluntary enhancements. we have seen
cable companies revert to strictly adhering to the license agreement governing specific areas.
I followed up with John Zu i k of Continental Cable regarding the original offers. Mr. Zuzick
confirmed that Continental Cable is now following only the letter of the licensing agreement. Therefore,
the Project needs to buy the above referenced items. HB Communications has assured me that the
amplifier and one of the filters are available within a week and the second filter is available shortly
thereafter.
Sincerely,
tiJ
Michael W.
