e
Jody Simes, homeowner} explained the project is to take down two pine trees,
one abutting the deck and one abutting the grater line. she said their proximity to
the house is dangerous. She is also looking to trim trees over the garage and
over the house to reduce debris falling. She said several of the trees on the front
side are on the neighbors properties and next to the fence that divides our
properties. The neighbors have approved us removing the branches that cone
over our house. She also noted there are several trees on her property they
grant to trim hack since they are overgrown and have a lot of dead branches to
reduce damage and debris falling on our house and garage. The Agent shored
images of the trees on the two properties. He commented she may want to
consider taking down the two oaks being proposed to he pruned and one of the
trees that is very close to the house. He agreed with taking down the pitch pine
growing thru the dick which is a hazardous situation. He requested of the
applicant that if she decides to remove some of the trees rather than prune them
to subrpit a new plan for the record.
No comments from the public
Motion: Mr, McKay moved a Negative Determination with the
understanding that additional removal of some of the trees may be added
at the discretion of the Agent. seconded by Mr. shag. Vote unanimous 6-0
VOTE: Request for release of funds from Lands/Maintenance account to
pay for a Phase I inspection of the Mashpee Pond Earn (IIIA office of Dam
safety-DDR). Funding source to be identified for future in pections of all
three Mashpee darns (Mash pee/Santu 1*t/ uashnet).
The Agent noted we have three herring runs or clams which are considered
impoundment structures by the Office of Dam Safety-D l . Two at
f ashpee/\Na eby Pond and the other at antuit/Quashnet River. The state
requires periodic phase I inspections to make sure the structural integrity is not
compromised. He reported our DPW Director outlined the cost associated with
the inspections. He said traditionally the Conservation-Commission has paid for
these in the past and moving forward, hopefully, there will he a separate line item
in the budget for these costs. They are requesting vire use our Laval and
Maintenance Account for these expenses. These inspections continue on a
cycle every fire years.
Motion: Mr. smith moved to approve the release of funds from the Land
and Maintenance Account in the amount of$4,900 to pay for Phase I
inspection of the Mashpee Mond Dam. seconded by Mr. McKay.
