The work
that was done was to dredge out sand that has been accumulating over a number of
gears just north of the flume in the channel leading up to the outlet to the Mashpee Pond
from Mill Pond. It was approximately 125' foot stretch that was dredged out 2 feet deep
by 4 foot vide. All the sand was deposited in the upland area and DPW trucked out the
sand from there. Erosion control was put up to make sure no siltation gets back into the
ladder. DPW will be doing the yearly maintenance dredging of both sides of the outlet
cage where the Mashpee Pond empties into the river and the same work at ,Johns Pond
at the upper and lower stream channels. They will bring in the front end loader and
scoop out the sand in those areas.
REVIEW: order of conditions reprised templates.
The Agent referred to the Order of conditions templates he has revised: General
Conditions, Coastal Cocks/coastal structures, Vista Pruning, and coastal Beach
Nourishment. He said he wanted the commissioners to have a copy of each one so they
can-see how each project is conditioned. He said he shortened them and neatened
them up and simplified the wording and took out any unnecessary wording but still
getting the same conditions clearly conveyed. He said if the Commissioners have any
questions or suggestions he is open to those. He noted these templates are used
following the hearings and are edited/tailored for each individual project and the existing
resource areas on a given lot. Following a discussion, it was agreed to revisit these
templates at the next meeting.
