d+
the buffer zone. He also noted the driveway area to be re-established along with the
pathways to the house. ITA
Resource Area, LSCSF, coastal lune and buffer zone to coastal Beach
Carla Linhares} Linhares and Son Landscaping} represented the applicants. She
explained the homeowners are requesting the removal of two pine trees and replace
them with two Eastern Red cedars. The Agent shoved some photographs of the trees
that have been deteriorating and their proximity to the coastal dune and the coastal
beach. The plan is to remove both of the trees and replace there with two Eastern
Cedars. The Agent recommended a Negative Determination.
No comment from the public
Motion: Mr. shag moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr.Anderson.
Mote unanimous 4-0
6:06 Dwight F. Hennessey, Jr, and Bertha S. Hennessey, 51 Buccaneer Way.
Proposed hazardous tree removal and mitigation plantings with trees and shrubs.
FDA
Resource Area: Buffer Zone, Land Under Waterbody and Waterways, Mashpee
Kiger
Wayne Tavares, Wet Tech Land Design, Inc. represented the applicants. He stated the
owners are proposing to remove lame white pines plus two oaks. These trees are in
close proximity to the house and present a hazard. He noted the stumps will remain.
For mitigation, 29 trees and shrubs will be planted on the coastal 100' setback line as
shorn on the plan. He stated a letter from the Pirate's Cove Association approving the
plan is forthcoming and no path or vista will be made without this approval.
The Agent clarified the resource areas by using photos. He noted the Mashpee Fiver,
the coastal Bank, wetland/riverfront, bordering vegetated wetland. The riverfront is
broken up into two different zones—the inner or outer riparian zones. All of the work is
taking dace in the outer. The deck work and the landscaping are proposed within that
area. No work is occurring on the coastal bank or within 100 feet of the BVW. The Agent
confirmed the trees are malformed and a hazard to the Douse and some of therm have
beetle damage. He made a distinction that the pathway and vista pruning is always done
under a Notice of Intent not an FDA. If the commission is to approve this plan, a.
distinction needs to be made that the approval is only for the tree removal and deck
expansion, and not the vista pruning or pathway. They also need permission from the
homeowners association which will need to accorhpany the Nol application .
