x <br /> Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of August 24, 2017 <br /> Public Hearings <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Commissioners Present: Cale McKay, Brad Sweet, Chad Smith, Thomas <br /> O'Neill, Robert Anderson, Bud Shaw <br /> Staff Present* Drew McManus anus Agent), Katelyn Cadoret <br /> (Assistant Conservation Agent), and Judy Daigneault (Recording Secretary <br /> CALL MEETING To ORDER: 5:55 p.m. <br /> The meeting was called to order with a quorum by Chairman Dale McKay at <br /> 5:57 p.m. : <br /> There was-no public comment <br /> Minutes: Approve .duly 13, & ,271 2017 Minutes <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to approve the July 13, 2017 minutes and July <br /> 7, 2017 minutes, seconded by Mr. Smith. Vote unanimous 6-0 <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPIC <br /> (This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonabranticipate <br /> would be discussed). <br /> I atel n Cadoret gave an update on the activities of the Land Stewards Program. <br /> r <br /> She stated they have been working on repainting the kiosk at the Mashpee River <br /> Woodlands parking lot as well as some of the benches. Mashpee TV was there <br /> to record the work and they will also be at the pollinator gardens when we do <br /> some weeding, She will be featuring these at ars upcoming newsletter. There , <br /> hasn't been any excessive dumping or issues with our gates at the conservation <br /> areas. The negative activity has seemed to have subsided. She only has one <br /> outstanding violation citation to be paid. She will also be working on a Faceboo <br /> page for the Mashpee Land Stewards. In light of the rainstorms the <br /> Conservation Department will be addressing the storm runoff issues at Mashpee <br /> River and Route -130. <br /> The Agent noted there is an issue with vehicles illegally going in and out of <br /> Conservation land and State Fish and Wildlife land which is part of South <br /> Mashpee Pine Barrens. He will be asking DPW to place boulders at this location <br /> and this issue will core before the board at a future meeting for a Grote. <br />
