Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of September 14, 2017 <br /> Public Hearings <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Commissioners Present: Dale McKay, Brad Sweet, Bud Shaw, Chad Smith, <br /> Thomas O'Neil <br /> Staff Present: Drew McManus (Conservation Agent) and Judy Daigneaul <br /> (Recording Secretary <br /> CALL MEETING To ORDER: 5:55 p.m. <br /> PREIPOST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> Minutes: Approve August 24, 2017 Minutes — Hold until next meeting <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br /> (This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably <br /> anticipate would be discussed). <br /> The Agent updated the Commissioners on the Air Force funding for the Upper <br /> Quashne River/Bogs Restoration. He stated there were additional requirements <br /> added to the scope of work which includes the investigation of the Noah and <br /> South of the impact area which needed to be clarified. Horsley and Witten <br /> submitted their final draft of expenses to the Conservation Office and then it was <br /> forwarded to the Air Force who then accepted i . The Air Force will oversee the <br /> funding. <br /> The Agent gave an update on John's Pond Fish Ladder which needs some work <br /> on the overall structure of the fish ladder. A study needs to be done to identify <br /> the causes of erosion and a hydrology analysis of the structure itself. He noted <br /> Southport Development Area applied to DEP for a water withdrawal permit to do <br /> irrigation on the golf course and this requires mitigation. We were asked if there <br /> were any priority projects conservation was working on. The Town will be <br /> receiving funding ($40,000) for the mitigation to be donated to the Conservation <br /> Department which should cover most of the permitting work. <br /> HEARINGS: <br /> 6:00 Stuart E. & Catherine I Nixdorff, 18 Little Neck Lane Proposed <br /> driveway reconstruction RDA <br />
