Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of September 28, 2017 <br /> Public Hearings <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Commissioners Present: Dale McKay, Brad Sweet, Robert Anderson, Bud Shave <br /> Staff Present: Drew McManus (Conservation Agent) and Judy Daigneau t (Recording <br /> Secretary <br /> CALL MEETING TO ORDER: 5:55 p.m. <br /> The meeting was called to order with a quorum by Chairman Dale McKay at 5:55 p.m. <br /> There was no public comment <br /> PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> Minutes: Approve August 24, September 14, 2017 [Minutes <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to approve the August 24, 2017 minutes and September <br /> 14) 2017 minutes, seconded by Mr. Smith. Vote unanimous 4-6 <br /> The Agent updated the members on the funding of the Upper Quashnet River <br /> Restoration. He received notification from the Air Force Civil Engineering Center that <br /> the funding will not be available for this current fiscal year which ends of the 301" of <br /> September. They will set aside the funding for the first quarter of their 2018 fiscal year <br /> beginning in October. Rose Forbes informed him that a new lawyer has been reviewing <br /> the project and she is fairly confident it will be resolved. The Agent said he would notify <br /> Horsley Witten and will keep the members informed. <br /> HEARINGS: <br /> 6:66 Elliot M. L. & Anne P. Bloom 41 Fiddler Crab Lane. Proposed hardscape <br /> improvements. RDA <br /> Resource Area: Buffer Zone to Coastal Bank, Salt Marsh, LSCSF <br /> Mr. Elliot Bloom, homeowner, described their project is to renovate their existing patio. <br /> The project involves removing the existing hot tub and 18" wall which separates the hot <br /> tub/spa area from the patio. They are proposing to build a new wall, raising the hot tub <br /> platform to the level of the patio, replace and repair the blue stone patio surface and <br /> install a natural gas fire pit in the vicinity of the removed hot tub/spa. <br /> The Agent noted there is no expansion of the patio but a change of use and <br /> recommended a Negative Determination <br /> No comment from the public. <br />
