i <br /> Page 3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes-revised <br /> August 18, 1997 <br /> October Town Meetinz WgMt Review: <br /> Article#10: $15,428 to reclassify the position of Administrative <br /> Clerk in Personnel to full-time. <br /> Mr.Watt indicated that the Finance Committee does not support <br /> the placement of Article#10 on the October Town Meeting warrant <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to remove Article #10 <br /> from the October Town Meeting Warrant. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> Y.OTE: <br /> Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Article#11: $35,000 to be used as matching funds for a computer <br /> technology grant awarded to the Police Department; <br /> COPS MORE 96 Grant Program. <br /> William C.Przybylek, Chief of Police indicated that it is necessary to <br /> match 25% of the$135,000 grant to purchase new technology. It was <br /> noted that the grant will not be jeopardized if grant funding is not matched <br /> at this time. <br /> Mr.Watt indicated that the Finance Committee voted against Article#11. <br /> Funding should be properly assumed under the CIP FY99 budget suggested <br /> Mr. Watt. <br /> Discussion followed. Chief Przybylek related concerns with respect to <br /> the CIP process. The Board recommended the article be deferred until <br /> the May Town Meeting. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to withdraw Article #11 <br /> from the October Town Meeting warrant. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> JEI: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> PUBLIC DISCUSSION: <br /> Tom Fudal.a,the Town Planner requested the Board place on the agenda, <br /> the discussion relative to pending land acquisition. <br /> Approved for discussion in Executive Session. <br /> QuQhu T Meetine arrant Review: <br /> Article#lf: Proposed to amend Section 3.C. of Chapter 172 to <br /> clarify procedures in which emergency work is performed <br /> under the Town's bylaw. The article was submitted <br /> by the Conservation Commission for language revision. <br />
