Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes I 1 <br /> December 15, 1997 <br /> NEW B_ SMS S: <br /> Fire StationI] ., f <br /> 1 -or r l <br /> Correspondence was received from Jim Vaccaro,Chairman of the <br /> Fire Station Building Committee requesting the Board approve the <br /> contract with Donham and Sweeney, Inc. of Boston, for design, <br /> design development, preparation of contract documents, and bidding <br /> and construction administration for the Fire and Rescue station and for a <br /> feasibility study and conceptual design for the South Mashpee substation. <br /> The total contract for architectural, design, and engineering services is <br /> $172,470. In the event the project is not funded,the contract limits the <br /> towns financial liability to$120,000. <br /> The bidding and construction administration phases of the agreement <br /> will not be in force until funding for construction and related costs have been <br /> voted by Town Meeting and a debt exclusion is approved by the voters. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the contract between <br /> the Town of Mashpee and Donham and Sweeney,Inc. for a sum not <br /> to exceed; $120,000 subject to Town Counsel's review and approval. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. <br /> Unanimous. 5-0, <br /> A Town Meeting ballot question was submitted to the Board for consideration <br /> proposing to fund the project through a 2 112 debt exclusion which will require <br /> a 213 vote of Town Meeting and voter approval. The ballot question will be <br /> retained in the Selectmen's ballot file. <br /> The design schedule anticipates providing a schematic design for the Selectmen's <br /> approval and a definitive cost figure before the deadline for executing the Town <br /> Meeting warrant. <br /> A c of 1 ce Bid: <br /> George Baker,Fire Chief recommended the Board award the Ambulance Bid <br /> to Greenwood Fire Apparatus of North Attleboro in the amount of$17,412. <br /> The budget for the project is $18,,000. <br />
