r <br /> Paget <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 26, 1335 <br /> FIBLIC Dl C21SSION: <br /> Jane Coogan requested the Board take action with respect to the signs <br /> existing in the Town of Mashpee. It was noted that many signs are <br /> unnecessary,repetitive,and in need of repair. <br /> Mr.Whritenour indicated that a Sign Task Force has been assigned to <br /> review all signs within the Town of Mashpee. The sub-committee will <br /> provide a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen for the October Town <br /> ` Meeting <br /> *It is the consensus of the Board to request the State Highway Department <br /> to meet with the Chief of Police and Director of Public works to review <br /> sign safety issues. Selectman Caffyn offered to coordinate the regulatory <br /> review on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> In addition,Ms. Coogan requested the Board take action to remove the <br /> construction signs located on Great oak Road. It was noted that at this <br /> time,road construction remains in progress. The Board will address the <br /> liability issue of this matter. <br /> Juan Bacigalupi,a member of the Process Action Team(PAT)indicated <br /> that the Senior Management Board met to further discuss the clean-up <br /> process at the Massachusetts Military Reservation. <br /> David Van G asbeck,Chief of the Environmental Division for the National <br /> Guard Bureau indicated that he wishes to form a white Paper Committee <br /> to help determine the appropriate plume containment method. <br /> As a citizen living in the polluted area,Mr.Bacigalupi requested the Board <br /> allow him to remain involved in the process. He also recommended that <br /> Greg Taylor be an active participant in the process,and represent Mashpee <br /> by serving on the above committee. <br /> Mr.Bacigalupi stated that he has developed a plan to clean-up the pollution <br /> emanating from the base. Selectman Caffyn suggested that Mr. Bacigalupi <br /> i <br /> be scheduled on the Board's agenda to discuss his proposal. <br /> Thelans relative to Mash ee's plumes are still evolving. It is crucial to <br /> p P <br /> have hearings on this matter and comment on the containment process <br /> indicated Selectman Caffyn. <br /> Mr.Bacigalupi noted that the 95%design will be available on March 18, <br /> 1996. He urged the Board of Selectmen to conduct a Public Hearing to <br /> allow the citizens to make comment on the plan. <br /> r <br />
