Page 6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 25, 1996 <br /> CA�TI[,NNS AND.,CQ.RRESPQNDE CE; <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicated that it is his intention to not seek <br /> re-election in May. <br /> DMwBUSINESS: <br /> Consideration of Engaging,an Environmental Consultant: <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested the Board give consideration to Dire an <br /> outside consulting environmental expert to review the proposed plume <br /> design and containment plan. <br /> We should ensure that the proposed plan will not harm our environment, <br /> wildlife area,ponds,rivers,health of our citizens,property value, and <br /> the overall reputation and character of Mashpee that could in the long run, <br /> devastate us financially indicated Selectman Caffyn. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to authorize the Executive Secretary <br /> to work with Selectman Caffyn to develop a list of concerns to present <br /> to Town Counsel to obtain a legal interpretation with respect to this regard. <br /> It was noted that a Public Hearing will be scheduled on or about <br /> March 18, 1996 to discuss the progress of the plume containment design <br /> and related extraction process. <br /> Recess: 8:35 p.m. Meeting Resumed: 8-42 p.m. <br />
