Fifty-one filed sub bids were received for the ten bid <br /> categories. All bids received were in the budget guidelines established <br /> for the construction project. <br /> Last Friday, nine general bids were received for general construction. <br /> The lowest bid was submitted by Anchor Contractors,Inc.of Weymouth <br /> in the amount of$1,461,850 indicated Mr.Hoit. } <br /> However Anchor Contractors failed to acknowledge Addendum#3 <br /> dated April 23, 1996. It was noted that the addendum included all the <br /> latest federal wage rates in addition to general contractor structural work <br /> in the meeting rooms. <br /> Since the addendum contained material which would have altered the bid <br /> rice the bid must be rejected as not being responsive to the Chapter 149 <br /> P <br /> ublic bidding requirements of the contract documents indicated Mr.Holt. <br /> lllir.Hoit indicated that he contacted the references listed in the certificate <br /> di <br /> of eligibility update statement of D'Agostino Associates,Inc. The fum <br /> � <br /> has been in business for over twenty-five years. The ratings for the past <br /> fiveY ears have been well above the state average of 84 informed Mr.Hoit. <br /> ' o Associates is characterized as a very capable contractor being <br /> I�Agost1n <br /> well organized with very good control over subcontractors noted Mr. Hoit. <br /> The firm has been responsive and has completed many projects ahead of <br /> schedule. <br /> Mr. Hoit indicated that the bonding company representing D'Agostino <br /> Associates has covered the firm since 1981. During this time,there have <br /> been no calls or questions on the general contractor's bonds. <br />
