Page 5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 17, 1995 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARRN -., <br /> Maahrer,Commgns.ALvia=QgmmitJ.Qe-R=m andR mmendatin • <br /> The Mashpee Commons Advisory Committee waspresent to discuss <br /> their report of June 4, 1996 and related recommendations to the Board <br /> of Selectmen regarding the commons project. ` <br /> s: <br /> Also present were; Doug Storrs and Arnold Chase, developers of the <br /> Mashpee Commons project. <br /> The Advisory Committee voted unanimously in support of the proposed <br /> conceptual plan for the expansion of Mashpee Commons as a mixed-use <br /> development incorporating a neo-traditional town center design indicated <br /> P � rP � g gn ; <br /> Spyro Mitrokostas, Chairman. <br /> The committee has recognized the complexity f 1 <br /> g p ty o the development proposal <br /> and has recommended the Board further study the additional aspects <br /> � <br /> relative to density,open space, traffic, impact on town services,water <br /> quality,wastewater,and future maintenance of buildings and grounds. <br /> t; <br /> Committee member,John Ferguson noted that representatives from the <br /> Y <br /> proposed Mashpee Commons project have been responsive,and credit <br /> was given for their efforts in support of honest development to present IJ <br /> the area as a traditional Cape Cod village. <br /> I <br /> Douglas Storrs,an ex-officio members of the committee stated that he <br /> was pleased with the initial stage of the lengthy process. He indicated <br /> that he would like to begin the MEPA Ca Cod Commission and local <br /> � Pe <br /> planning review process at this time. <br /> Arnold Chase added that he received a positive response from the committee <br /> with respect to a shared vision. The project will improve the town in an 3' <br /> aesthetic manner providing economic development and community pride <br /> noted Mr. Chase who stated that his spirits are renewed for the next <br /> phase of the project scope. <br /> Selectman �Yn related concerns with respect to density,water quality <br /> and mitigation. She indicated that the Board has requested the Cape Cod <br /> Commission conduct a special study on water quality and traffic impact <br /> for additional review and consideration. <br />
