TEL : 401-4216866 Jun 26 96 14 :34 No .016 P .02
MASI-1PEE COMMONS LIMITED PARTNE.R.S1111)
(.5013)477-5400P-0.80X 1530
MAS!-lPCE.MASSAC.HUSE'! l S (yj644 (SM477.4306 FAX
June 25, 1996
Mr. Peter bininzio
Board of Selectmen
Town Hall
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
pear Peter and Members of the Board: ,
As I am sure you are now aware, there was an article In the Boston Globe
over the weekend relative to New Seabury, My purpose In writing to you
today is to make you aware of the fact that we were, as i am sure the
Board was, greatly offended with the quotes attributed to Tam Fudala, as a
representative of the down,
As a representative for the Board of Selectmen and the Town of Mashpee,
we found these quotes to be reprehensible. To have Mashpee
represented In a regional, if not national, newspaper, referring to a tax
payer as a "sleaze" and to state that it Is fine for Mashpee to do business
with "a sleaze" is shocking to say the least.
Having dealt with the press for many years, i know that they often misquote
people or quote them out of context, if this is the case, I urge Tom and the
Board to press for clarification and correction by the Gybe. If, In the
unfortunate alternative, Tom was quoted correctly, wewould request that
you direct him to retract the statement and issue an apology on behalf of
the Board and the Town as a whole, We have so much that is positive
about Mashpee and so much that can be achieved in the coming years to
Insure that it is the Jewel of Cape Cod. This sort of unfortunate event
negatively impacts all that has been accomplished by the Town and the
Board of Selectmen,
am confident that the Board will take the appropriate steps to clarify or
rectify this situation at the earliest passible opportunity,
Sincerely
pv
d u las .
