HA
C") Uj
R 904
OF06! 1996
June 27, 1996
Mr.Peter Dinizio,Chairman
Mashpee Board Of Selectmen
Town of Mashpee
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Dear Mr.Dinizio,
As a member of the business community and as President of the
Mashpee Chamber of Commerce, I was extremely disappointed in comments
made by Mashpee town employee,Tom Fudala, in the June 23, 1996 Boston
Globe article.
For a town employee to be commenting as spokesperson for the town on
issues of business is unthinkable. Mr. Fzdala may have his own opinions
regarding business matters in Mashpee, however they should not be confused
with a town government stance on issues or individuals.
Ido not low Mr.Brown personally,however,like Chris Burden,he is a
taxpayer in the community who has done nothing wrong and who is also a
member in good standing of the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce. He should
not be publicly ridiculed by a town employee.
In the future, I hope that this type of media contact is monitored.
I recommend that the Mashpee town government designates the appropriate
spokesperson to speak to media on town issues and refrain from character
attacks on members of the business community.
Sincerely,
Melinda S.Gallant
