In addition,Mr.McQuaid <br /> indicated that VOC samples were taken from the site, and there is no <br /> indication that any oil has entered into Ashumet Pond. <br /> *Selectman Caffyn recommended to submit communication to NIlVIP. <br /> and <br /> DEP addressing the Board of Selectmen and Board of Health's concerns, <br /> and emphasize the need eliminate storm drainage systems from entering <br /> into the area ponds. <br /> � y <br /> PUBLIC DISfjjSS IDN: <br /> With regards to the recent fuels ill,Ed Baker indicated that he reviewed <br /> eviewed <br /> the storm drainage easements and saw an oil sheen in a small puddle of <br /> water located near Ashumet pond. <br /> Mr. McQuaid indicated that the sheen is a natural iron deposit, and not <br /> a VOC or fuel related sheen. <br /> Al Orlando, a resident of the Ashumet pond area indicated that he noticed <br /> a heavy smell of oil in the air on the date of the spill, <br /> In other business, Charles Costello,President of the Mashpee <br /> Environmental Coalition invited members of the Board an interested public <br /> to join the coalition formed to address a multitude of threats facing the <br /> environment. <br /> Mr. Costello read aloud the new MEC mission statement for the record. <br /> The next scheduled meeting is Sunday,July 21, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. at the <br /> Carol Jacobson Senior Center. <br /> Sidney Golub, Chairman of the Finance Committee indicated that he is <br /> disappointed the Board made the decision to not include the Finance <br /> Committee in contract deliberations for the new Administrator's Unit. <br /> Mr. Golub requested the Chairman recognize him for comment after <br /> the Fire Chief s presentation on the Fire Station Feasibility Study report. <br />
