Andrew Gottlieb stated Monday he is introducing the Intermunicipal Agreement between <br /> Barnstable, Sandwich, and Mashpee for load sharing and responsibility for Popponesset Bay to <br /> the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion: Mr. York moved to support the Intermunicipal Agreement for Popponesset Bay <br /> for the Nitrogen Load Sharing, seconded by Mr. McKay. Vote 5-0 <br /> Mashpce Nutrient Control Bylaw; Update on AG Approval; end of season notice to <br /> Professional Companies/Homeowners—No Update <br /> Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation; Update <br /> Ashley Fisher stated the oyster harvesting started November 1. They just finished seeding the <br /> quahogs in Waquoit Bay, Hamlin, and Jehu. They also put 1.4 million under nursery nets at the <br /> town dock and maintain them for the winter. Rick York stated this was the most we have ever <br /> done. He stated they are continuing to trap the green crabs. <br /> Michael Talbot asked Ashley if she would be willing to write an article on shellfish for the <br /> newspaper. She noted they need more volunteers and is hoping to have a volunteer program <br /> with a list of people who are willing to volunteer. Rick York noted AmeriCozps has been key for <br /> the oyster project. <br /> Planning for sewers; connections with private sewers: No Update <br /> Town-Wide Stormwater Management Plan: Assessment of Santuit Pond Stormwater <br /> Runoff- a possible cause of the significant algae bloom this year. <br /> The Chair noted EOC has recently discussed the issue of the stormwater runoff at Santuit Pond <br /> and suggested doing an assessment of points of water runoff that might be manageable or getting <br /> the word out to residents regarding landscaping practices. Rick York said DPW has done some <br /> runoff control projects. He said when you get 5 or 6 inches of rain in a short period of time it <br /> washes the watershed out. The Chair noted over the winter he will work on something that the <br /> residents can do on landscape practices. <br /> Mashpee Community Gardens Preservation and Revitalization: No Update <br /> Pond & Estuary Water Quality Monitoring: Update <br /> Rick York reported they have their own field data and finished the intensive summer sampling <br /> with the Waterways Commission and continue to do the monthly sampling year round, <br /> REPORTS <br /> Conservation Department Report: <br /> Land Stewards Program: No Update <br /> Interactive Trail Mapping: <br />
