Motion: Katelyn Cadoret moved that FOC support the additional funding for the <br /> new bridge at the Quashnet River, seconded by Joe Cummings. Vote 4-0-1 with <br /> Dale McKay abstaining. <br /> ACTION ITEMS UPDATE <br /> Mashpee CWMP: <br /> • Mashpee Nutrient Control Bylaw; Update on AG Approval—No Update <br /> • Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation; Update <br /> Rick York stated they have planted S million quahog seed which is a record on the Cape <br /> and 2,133 bags of oyster seed. The water quality monitoring is ongoing. We are <br /> continuing the project the next fiscal year which is included in the departmental budget. <br /> • DRI Review; IMA's with other towns: Update <br /> Rick York stated Mashpee is in the process of getting a watershed permit for three <br /> towns, with Sandwich and Barnstable for the Popponesset Bay watershed nitrogen <br /> remediation and water quality restoration. He said DEP and EPA are on board. <br /> • Planning for sewers; connections with private sewers: No Update <br /> Town-Wide Stormwater Management Plan: Assessment of Santuit Pond Stormwater <br /> Runoff <br /> Rick York stated he is still monitoring Santuit Pond. He noted the water is still green and <br /> expects it to die off this winter. <br /> Mashpee Community Gardens Preservation and Revitalization: No Update <br /> Pond &Estuary Water Quality Monitoring: Update <br /> REPORTS <br /> Conservation Department Report: <br /> Katelyn Cadoret stated she made a presentation on general work the Conservation Commission <br /> has been doing to the Board of Selectmen and was well received. <br /> • Land Stewards Program: Update <br /> She said Americorp has had four workdays. The chained sawed trees that were downed <br /> during the last storm which will help with the water runoff. They will also backfill the <br /> steps with gravel. They finished the steps at Santuit Pond and also at Quashnet River. <br /> They repaired the gouged out areas on the bank and used the same technique that the Sea <br /> Run Brook Trout Coalition used at the Mashpee and Santuit Rivers with the addition of <br /> woody structure. Americorps did a fantastic job. There will be more workdays in the <br /> near future. <br />
