2 <br /> Sewer Commission <br /> Minutes <br /> December 6, 2018 <br /> Present: Tom Fudala, Joseph Lyons, Bradford Pittsley <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Fudala at 5:08 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Ockway Bay Meeting Room <br /> Approval of Minutes: <br /> Due to the lack of secretarial support, the minutes of November 16, 2017, October 25, 2018 and <br /> November 15, 2018 remain outstanding. <br /> Status of Final Plan: <br /> The Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan has received all necessary approvals. No <br /> implementation has begun other than limited shellfish propagation. <br /> Status of other tasks: <br /> Watershed-Based Permit for Waquoit Bay: <br /> The first IMA meeting with the Towns of Falmouth and Sandwich was held on June 26, 2018. <br /> Mr. Fudala was noted to be in attendance. Currently no further meetings are planned. <br /> Contract with GHD: <br /> In June of 2018 a contract was awarded to GHD, Inc. in the amount of$450,000 (Cape Cod <br /> Commission mitigation funding) for engineering services associated to the preliminary design of <br /> the municipal wastewater treatment plant adjacent to Transfer Station. The project has not <br /> commenced to date as the Sewer Commission is awaiting the designation of a Sewer <br /> Commission Administrator to act on the Town's behalf. The urgency of initiating the <br /> preliminary design and engineering services to develop a design for Phase 1 of the Site 4 <br /> Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) and related collection system was discussed. It is <br /> hopeful the project would be initiated at the start of the new calendar year. <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated the Board of Selectmen at their last meeting voted <br /> to invite GHD, Inc. to the first open meeting on the review of Town related goals and objectives. <br /> The matter of wastewater is highly prioritized by the Board of Selectmen and it will be the main <br /> focus to begin the open network of dialogue with Department Heads on January 14, 2019. <br /> Members of the Board of Sewer Commissioners are invited to attend this meeting. <br />
