Within the legislation is the creation
of the Cape and Islands Water Protection Fund proposed to assist in the remediation of nitrogen
removal and offset local wastewater management. The proposal would assist Cape municipalities with their
wastewater management projects that may qualify for SRF loans; zero percent state interest loans to
mitigate nitrogen conditions.
Further information regarding the objective of the Cape Cod and Islands Water'Protection Fund and
its Management Board is intended to be presented at the January 15, 2019 Wastewater Meeting..
When asked of the potential for a conflict of interest to serve on the new board, Selectmen Andrew R.
Gottlieb, Executive Director of The Association to Preserve Cape Cod indicated there is no conflict
with his representing organization.
