Review/Approve BOH Public Session Minutes: August 24, 2017. <br /> Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Public Session minutes of August 24, <br /> 017. Mallory Langler seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 3. Variance to Federal Food code: Asia Restaurant(3 Greene Street). <br /> Glen Harrington stated that a similar variance for Hissho Sushi at Roche Bros, which became Mai Cuisine, was <br /> requested. In order to render rice not a potentially hazardous food, vinegar is used to reduce the pH to loss <br /> than 4.6. The required HAACP plan has been submitted} and it outlines the acidification process and record <br /> keeping requirements. veronica Warden and Glen Harrington have reviewed the plan, and it meets the <br /> requirements per the Food code. At this point Mr. Harrington recommends approval with the Health Agent to <br /> witness the protocols of the HAACP Plan during an inspection. <br /> Brian Baurngaertel inquired if anyone was present from Asia Restaurant and if they had any comments. Meino <br /> Ido, the owner of Asia Restaurant} presented a list of vendors and the recordkeeping of the rice acidification <br /> process. Mr. Baur gaertel commented that he appreciated the fact that the person presenting the HAACP Plan <br /> is a native speaker for both languages. <br /> Mallory Langler made a motion that the Board of Health approve the variance to the Federal Food Code for <br /> Asia Restaurant allowing them to use vinegar as a method for food preservation for rice and pending an <br /> inspection by the Health Agent to witness the HAACP Plan protocols. Laurel Almquist seconded the motion. <br /> The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 4. Request for 2017 Retail Food Permit: L.L. Bean (7 Market Street). <br /> Glen Harrington commented that a request for a 2017 Retail Food Permit has been submitted by L.L. Bean to <br /> open a store in Nlashpee commons. There is very little retail food, which is all prepackaged, and the retail area <br /> is less than 1000 square feet. The Assistant Health Agent inspected the store on August 23, 2017, and the 15 <br /> incidental permit fee has been paid. <br /> Mallory Langler made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Retail Food Permit for L.L. Bean Inc., <br /> lashpee Commons. Laurel Almquist seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 54 Review Board of Health Fee Schedule. <br /> Glen Harrington stated that the only item for discussion in the Fee Schedule is the Nitrogen Aggregation <br /> Loading Plan review. The Board had previously established the 50 fee for review of a single family home. <br /> The third party review for the subdivisions requires to be in a regulation and also within the Board of Health fee <br /> schedule. At this time Mr. Harrington is not recommending any other changes to the fee schedule. At the next <br /> meeting Mr. Harrington will present a draft for a septic regulation which must be advertised two consecutive <br /> times prior to the hearing. The draft will include the Nitrogen Aggregation Loading Plan third party review fee <br /> for subdivisions. <br /> Mallory Langler made a motion that the Board of Health approve the 2017 Fee Schedule. Laurel Almquist <br /> seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> DLD BUSINESS - <br /> 1. sanitary code violations and Fines: 133 Quinaquisset Avenue. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that at the last meeting the Board voted to continue discussion for the property <br /> located at 133 Quinaquisset Avenue until the September 7, 2017, meeting. veronica Warden, Assistant Health <br /> Agent, performed a re-inspection at 133 Quinaquisset Avenue to identify the corrected violations. Two <br /> violations were corrected with three still remaining repair of the facia boaird by the chimney, the shower stall <br /> trim, and the screens were not installed. <br />
