The Affordable Housing Committee is an advisory
committee in the Town of Mashpee that has no ability to receive money, develop or manage
property. The land that was transferred to the town's Affordable Housing Trust, a nine-member
committee containing majority of Selectmen(5), will have to have action taken by the trust. A
feasibility study may be conducted using county funds and after that they would have to decide
how to proceed with the land. It was mentioned that it could be transferred to the Mashpce
Housing Authority for development, if the report showed that feasible development could be
done and the MHA. was interested, Mrs. Botsford reminded the board of the pre-feasibility study
results that we received on the Falmouth Road property indicating that it was not feasible to
develop there. It appears the town is hoping to combine two properties to make it attractive and
feasible to a developer. The other property, which abuts a community near the golf course, has
already shown a lot of resistance from abutters.
N . 'f MEETING,*.
