6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 19, 2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Update on CommuOy Health Center of C4pe Cod Karen Gardner Chief Operating Officer: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with representatives from the Community Health Center(CHC}to obtain an <br /> update on the services offered to the Mashpee community and to other patients in need. Karen Gardner, <br /> Chief Operating Officer reviewed the highlights of the programs offered at the CHC. <br /> As noted, nearly 15,000 registered patients visit the center. Averages of one in five patients are Mashpee <br /> residents. Approximately 200 new patients register on a monthly basis. Patients between the age of 18 <br /> and 65 represent 75%of the CHC patients. Nearly 80%are below 200%of the FPL. It is estimated that <br /> 700 patients are Veterans. <br /> Fifteen providers are involved in the behavioral programming of service. In addition to complex care <br /> management, nutrition counseling and pharmacy facilities are available on site. Recent program <br /> expansions include oral health,vision and addiction programming. With respect to the seriousness of <br /> addiction,Ms. Gardner indicated the CHC is working closely with Barnstable County and in Mashpee <br /> with Gail Wilson, the Human Services Director. Of particular note was the successful Drop in Night, a <br /> monthly program held in the Town of Mashpee. As a result of this endeavor, six new patients have <br /> enrolled in medical treatment services. <br /> In the next few years,the CHC endeavors to improve upon the health of the population currently being <br /> served. Initiatives include wellness programming, social determinants of care,community based linkages, <br /> partnerships and technology advancements. <br /> Review and approval of various applications: <br /> Special Event Application, Wedding of Sean Morrisey&_Tiffany CqHpbell: <br /> A Special Events application was before the Board of Selectmen for a wedding ceremony planned to be <br /> held at the Mashpee Community Park on July 7, 2017 at 6:45 p.m. until 7:40 p.m. from Sean <br /> Morrisey and Tiffany Campbell of Mashpee. Due to work commitments,the individuals were unable to <br /> attend the Selectmen's Meeting. It was noted that all necessary paperwork is in order for the Selectmen's <br /> approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the application of Sean Morrisey and Tiffany <br /> Campbell to hold a wedding ceremony at the Mashpee Community Park on July 7,2017 as <br /> referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed,none <br />
