Harbormaster Report:-Rick York gave the report for the Harbormaster. All winterization of equipment <br /> and facilities has been completed. Rick noted there was still some late trout fishing on the ponds. He <br /> was pleased to announce that the Department had been fortunate in obtaining a government surplus <br /> 2011, Maco boat and trailer for$3000.This craft is ideal for use in Popponeset Bay as it drafts less than <br /> 2 ft. of water. It is equipped with police lights and the equipment, rigging,and motor,from the old boat <br /> will be switched over. Rick said this acquisition was a real upgrade which affords more capabilities. All <br /> activities were low normal in Waquoit and Popponesset Bays, <br /> DNR Director/Shellfish Constable Report: Rick said the oyster beds were open to November 1St and <br /> that the fisherman were very pleased <br /> Committee Reports., <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby and John"s_Pond_Don McDonald reported that DNR assistant,Ashley Fisher, had <br /> contributed information that had been requested for the public meeting of the Pond Association. . <br /> Popponesset Ba —5ee Harbormaster report. <br /> Waguoit Bay-,See Harbormaster report. <br /> WaterQuality Update/Water Sam lin Report—Don McDonald described the program as in <br /> 'hibernation". Rickadded that the blue/green algae bloom in Santuit Pond was still present and would <br /> be difficult to eliminate totally. <br /> Barnstable County Resources Committee U date—No report. <br /> Sewer Committee Report- No Report <br /> Public Access Update- Ken reported an update of the Great River Ramp construction project. He <br /> stated the fiberglass encased rebar had finally arrived and the concrete forms were being finished. The <br /> objective completion date is still the end of December, but could be pushed back <br /> Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging Schedule- Dredging activity discussed above. <br /> New Business: Ken indicated that he had received an email from Drew McManus in Conservation. It <br /> related to questions from the Mashpee Conservation Committee about the initiative by Save the Bay <br /> (SPB)and the Woods Hole Group to include trucked in sand by SPB to possibly be allowed under the <br /> Towns Comprehensive Permit to enable enlargement of SPB sediment disposal area if a modification <br /> could be approved by the various agencies involved. In the future SPB/WHG would be proposing <br /> changes for the dredging of the Popponesset Approach Channel to be included under the Towns <br /> Comprehensive Permit.Ken forwarded this trucked in sand information to our consulting engineer for <br /> his review and approval of concept as it pertains to the Town's existing Comprehensive Permit. <br /> A motion to adjourn was made by Don McDonald and 2nd by Stan Healy. The meeting was adjourned at <br /> 10:10 AM.
