Page 4 <br /> r; <br /> ^•`fir <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> ` Minutes <br /> r August 19, 1996 <br /> =_Y Rg.)j= f r TQM Meeting <br /> #1 <br /> Board of Health Agent,Elias McQuaid discussed Article#19 with <br /> the Board of Selectmen. <br /> r <br /> The article will fund the laying of the water mains from the intersection <br /> of Main Street and Great Neck Road to the Town Hall building. <br /> Mr.McQuaid indicated that non-compliance notification was recently <br /> y <br /> received from the DEP who have requested a"desk top" study of lead <br /> and copper levels,and anti-corrosion control. <br /> It is estimated that the above study will cost$35,000. In addition, <br /> sampling and monitoring fees add to the yearly expenses. <br /> Mr.McQuaid has estimated the sum of$75,000 for the purpose of i <br /> supplying public water to the Town Hall facility. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the above estimated figure. <br /> Deirdre Greelish,a member of the water District Commission suggested <br /> the Board contact David Rich of the water District to further review <br /> exact expenditures. <br /> Selectman Marsters recommended the Board review potential insurance <br /> cost savings if the Town elects to hook-up to the public water supply. i <br /> Discussion followed with regards to Article#7 as presented by the <br /> Board of Health for the purpose of continuing the Mashpee Family Quest r <br /> Program under the direction of the Upper Cape Visiting Nurse's <br /> Association for the next twelve months. <br /> i <br /> I. <br /> Mr. McQuaid indicated that last year,the program was grant funded. f' <br /> It was successful in detecting and preventing family problems. The <br /> Board of Health is requesting the sum of$15,000 to be appropriated to <br /> the Board of Health's Professional and Technical Account. <br /> r <br /> i <br /> Selectman Dinizio recommended the Board fund the article as presented <br /> this year,and place the article on the May Town Meeting warrant to be <br /> consistent with other articles of this nature. *Approved. <br />
