Page 6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 16, 1996 <br /> APPS-- - NTS AND HEARINGS-- <br /> Liquor License Hearing- Route 130 Corp_._d&&ShaLky <br /> Selectman Costa opened the Public Hearing on the application of Route 130 <br /> Corp., d/b/a Sharky's, Christopher J.Wickstrom, Manager, for an Annual <br /> Restaurant All Alcoholic Beverages License. <br /> Christopher J. Wickstrom,President and Clerk, and Diane Cloutier, <br /> Treasurer were present to discuss the license application with the Board. <br /> Attorney John M.McAuliffe was present on behalf of the applicants. <br /> Ms. Cloutier indicated that she intends to remodel and re-landscape the <br /> building proposed as S hanky's to improve the general condition of the area. <br /> As noted,the'building is currently vacant. <br /> Ms. Cloutier stated that she would like to establish a reasonably priced <br /> restaurant offering a lighter fare menu. At this time,a menu has not yet <br /> been determined. <br /> For disclosure,Attorney McAuliffe submitted necessary documents to <br /> complete the alcoholic beverage license application process. <br /> Selectman Costa opened the Public Hearing to obtain comment. <br /> Dr. Mark Woods, a resident of the area stated that he is in favor of a good <br /> restaurant,but has a problem with S hanky's due to previous experiences <br /> with thepast owners of Davy's Locker. <br /> Dr.Woods indicated that the previous situation was highly unpleasant to <br /> the abutters. There were incidents of disorderly conduct, and loud noise <br /> emanating from Davy's Locker. <br /> Dr.Woods questioned the survival of such a business with area <br /> competition. what protection do we have as residents that this will <br /> not turn into a club asked Dr.Woods? <br /> Antoinette Brooks made note of a Chatham entity that requested late night <br /> music and nude dancing earlier this year. She asked if this is the intention <br /> Of this particular establishment? <br /> In response to the above, Ms. Cloutier stated that there is absolutely no <br /> request for late night music and nude dancing. At this time,we are here <br /> for a liquor license indicated Ms. Cloutier who stated that she is incurring <br /> high insurance fees because the building is presently unoccupied. <br /> Lauren Mikita stated that those who forget to learn from history, are <br /> doomed to repeat it themselves. <br />
