:w
L i _
Mr. Shepherd's comment was a Lake Mcanagemen k: comini ttee does have some
merit and could be helpful addressing issues at our ramp that lie would likes
to see teaken carer, o f=. He felt we could assist the state in resurfacing the
parking lot that he felt was in disrepair, and lighting, but, he would like
to meet with Town officials and our committee before he made any decisions,
that never happened!
At the time of my conversation with Mr. Shepherd I made it very clear
that
1eat-
that the concept and goal of our management committee was solely a support
group to the town, to assist, not change or impede any of the existing laws
or relationships. Quite frankly, I told him we have far more pressing and
important issues on the lake that we needed to deal with before we took on
the responsibility of the boat ramp.
Regarding Mr. Shepherd's comment that he doesn't agree with the config-
uration
onfig--
uration of the membership has no merit. lie doesn' t agree that the lake
committee ,be made up of mostly pond residents, which it doesn' t, two of the
six will reside on the lake. Yet, he supports Southwick's plan where 4 of
the 6 members live on . the pond, including Mr.Reardon, a Bass club and
tournament representative that Mr.Shepherd fails to mention, quite a
con tradi ct i on r
I just wish Mr.Shepherd had waited and gotten all the facts before tie
wrote such a derogatory letter. He states lie would like to continue a good
working relationship with the town. Mr. Shepherd, the Lake Management
Committee is part of the Town'. By you criticizing this committee before it
is even formed does not give the impression of maintaining a good working
relationship. Let's hope that both sides can set aside the differences and
clear the air over this unfortunate incident and move forward in a more
positive and productive atmosphere that would benefit all parties involved.
Respectfully,
fa,17 c
James F.
