Page 6 <br /> s <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 21, 1936 <br /> W BUSINESS: <br /> - <br /> Execution of Election Warrant: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve and execute <br /> the State Election warrant of Tuesday, November S, 1996 <br /> as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Change order- Salt Shed: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works submitted communication to <br /> the Board dated October 17, 1996 requesting a Change Order in the <br /> construction of the DPW Salt Shed. <br /> Mr. Taylor has proposed that an overspill barrier be erected on the two <br /> sidewalls of the new shed. Kirker-Perry Construction Company of <br /> Taunton has submitted the low bid of$2,312.00. <br /> Mr. Whritenour recommended approval, and noted that funds for <br /> this purpose are contained in the Capital Improvement budget. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to approve the DPW <br /> Salt Shed Change Order as requested, and award the bid <br /> to Kirker-Perry Construction in the amount of $2,312.00. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> YQT.E. Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Self Reliance: <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested the Board meet with representatives of <br /> Self Reliance in an effort to reduce municipal utility fees. <br /> *Agenda item. <br /> Land Bank. <br /> As an individual taxpayer, Selectman Costa indicated that he is in <br /> support of the Cape Cod Lank Bank bill. The bili, which would provide <br /> funding to towns seeking to purchase undeveloped land to preserve <br /> water supplies, and the overall beauty of Cape Cod will be presented <br /> on the election ballot for voter approval. <br /> The bill would create a 1%real estate transfer fee on property sales, <br /> exempting the first$100,000 on each sale, and would provide funds for <br /> towns to maintain land bank properties. <br /> The Selectmen did not have an opportunity to vote on this matter as <br /> a result of the regular meeting schedule. <br />
