Review of Annual Report
The Committee reviewed a draft annual report and had no changes.
Other Business
Steve Cook asked the Committee to add to the agenda consideration of a new member. He had
received an email from the Town Manager's Office with the letter of interest and resume. The
candidate is Rachel Hodgman, a local attorney who has volunteered over the years on various
boards and civic organizations. The members all agreed she is a good candidate. A
recommendation for her appointment will be forwarded to the Town Manager's Office.
Steve Cook also summarized as a point of information to the Committee the joint meeting he
attended on the Town's wastewater management plan which was held with the Board of
Selectmen and various regulatory boards and commissions. The plan proposes to take
ownership of 10 existing small scale wastewater treatment facilities within Mashpee that serve
individual neighborhoods or developments. These facilities would be considered for potential
expansion to serve surrounding properties. Phase 1 of the plan would focus on the Shoestring
Bay/Popponesset Bay area. A wastewater treatment facility is proposed at the Transfer Station
for this phase; schematic design is currently underway. At this time, there is no schedule for
final design and construction. The role of the Committee in the process is also unknown.
Next Meeting
The next regular meeting will be 5:15 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Town Hall.
Adiournment
Joe Brait motioned the meeting be adjourned; Geoff Gorman seconded the motion; and the
motion was unanimously passed. The meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Y
Catherine Laurent, DPW Director
z
