Ilown of Mashpee Department of Pubfic Works
:
350 Meetinghouse load
9ry
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Telephone - (508)539-1420
FaX- (508)539-3894
MEMORANDUM
March 5, 2019
TO: Board of Selectmen
Rodney Collins, Town Manager
FROM: Catherine Laurent, Director
RE: Recommendation for Approval of Change Order No. 7
Quashnet School Windows/Roof Project
Description
With completion of the Quashnet School Windows/Roof project, there are several punch list
items the Town is accepting in their current condition without further work. The contractor has
agreed to a net credit of$5,013.23 as a result.
Background
Spot Mortar Repair The color of a batch of mortar used for brick repairs on the gym roof is
similar in color not an exact match to the mortar used elsewhere. Rather than have the mortar
removed and replaced, as the difference will not be visible from the ground, the Town will
accept the existing condition with a credit of$1,008.62.
Window Sill Corian Seams The seams at five window ledge locations in classrooms and
hallways are not perfect (seam is visible if location is pointed out). Rather than have the seams
redone with no guarantee of an improved condition, the Town will accept the existing condition
with a credit of$250 per window or$1,250 total.
Superintendent's Office Foyer Condition The wall finish above the interior door has "wrinkles"
from the replacement of the door and adjacent window. The general contractor tried to
correct but was unsuccessful in completely eliminating the wrinkle. The Town will accept the
existing condition with the credit of$250. DPW will address ourselves at a later date.
Finish Landscaping Most disturbed grass areas were seeded in early Fall 2018 but several areas
were still being used by the general contractor at the time. Rather than hold up project
closeout until the remaining areas can be seeded and grass established in late Spring 2019,the
Town will accept the existing condition with a credit of$2,504.61. DPW will address the finish
landscaping ourselves at a later date.
