4 <br /> Sewer Commission <br /> Minutes <br /> February 7, 2019 <br /> Shellfish: <br /> In Waquoit Bay there was a commercial shellfish violation where oysters were taken from a <br /> shellfish grant area. The individual was given a citation and has paid a fine. For monitoring <br /> purposes records will incorporate the nitrogen count to the aquaculture remediation program. <br /> With regards to the continuance of the aquaculture program it was noted a local developer <br /> through nitrogen mitigation requirements is anticipated to contribute funding to assist in the <br /> propagation of shellfish. <br /> FY2020 Budget status: <br /> The FY2020 Sewer Commission expense budget request was $35,200. The figure included <br /> $25,000 for value engineering. The request was modified by the Town Manager to $10,200 for <br /> fiscal year 2020. To compensate for the value engineering,the Town Manager has agreed to <br /> include the sum of$25,000 in the Legal/Engineering/Consulting budget for WWTP preliminary <br /> design services. <br /> May 2019 Warrant Articles: <br /> Two proposed May 2019 Annual Town Meeting warrant articles were presented as follows; <br /> Article: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate or transfer from available funds $840,000 to <br /> the Sewer Commission Wastewater Treatment Plant Design Account, to complete the design of <br /> Phase I of the municipal wastewater treatment plant to be located adjacent to the Town's solid <br /> waste transfer station, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Lyons to approve and recommend to the May 2019 Town Meeting the <br /> sum of$840,000 for the Site 4 WWTP final design as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Pittsley. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Fudala,yes Mr. Lyons,yes Mr. Pittsley,yes Opposed, none <br />
