Article 6 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation Fund <br /> in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §5, as follows: $22,500 from the 10% <br /> Historic Reserves for the purpose of funding A History of Mashpee, Massachusetts; an updated <br /> pictorial history of the Town of Mashpee, including any necessary costs and expenses related <br /> thereto, as recommended by the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> Explanation: The goal of this project is to re-publish a documented pictorial history of the <br /> Town of Mashpee to update the 1995 version previously circulated to commemorate Mashpee's <br /> 125'h Anniversary. The budget will cover the cost of printing 1500 copies of a 150-page glossy <br /> soft-cover book; 8.5"x 11"which would include 18 pages of color photographs. Funds from the <br /> sale of the books would be deposited into the Town's General Fund. The applicant of this <br /> project is the Mashpee Historical Commission. <br /> The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously 9-0 in support of this article. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 7-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman John Cahalane <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation <br /> Fund in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §5, $100,000 for the purpose <br /> of funding the installation of a Preschool Therapeutic Playground at the Kenneth C. Coombs <br /> School, including necessary costs and expenses related thereto, as recommended by the <br /> Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> Explanation: This article seeks funding to improve the community play space at the K.C. <br /> Coombs School for safety purposes and to adequately address the needs of typically developing <br /> children. The new Mashpee Plays Together Kids Therapeutic Playground is proposed for <br /> young children ages three to five years of all abilities. The play structures would address the <br /> 4 <br />
