Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds $111,892 to fund <br /> the SEN, Local 888, AFL CIO,Public Works Unit contract settlement effective July 1, 2012,with <br /> said funds to be distributed to various line item accounts by the Town Accountant. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:56 PM. <br /> Article 13 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer $33,916 from available funds to fund the <br /> settlement for the SEN,Local 888, AFL CIO, Clerical Unit effective July 1, 2012,with said funds <br /> to be distributed to various salary line items by the Town Accountant, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article will fund a 1% cost of living adjustment for Fiscal Year 2013 to <br /> employees whose positions are classified under the Clerical Contract. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> Finance Committee recommends approval 7-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Carol Sherman. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds $33,916 to fund <br /> the SEN, Local 888, AFL CIO, Clerical Unit contract settlement effective July 1, 2012, with said <br /> funds to be distributed to various salary line item accounts by the Town Accountant. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:57 PM. <br /> Article 14 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create an additional position of full-time (40 hours/week)Assistant <br /> Mechanic in the Department of Public Works under the Service Employees International Union, <br /> Local 888, AFL-CIO Public Works Unit, and for said purpose to see if the Town will vote to <br /> appropriate and transfer from available funds $59,370 for salary for the position with said funds <br /> to be distributed as follows: $35,776 to the Department of Public Works Salary/Wage Account; <br /> $23,040 to the Medical Insurance Account; $35 to the Group Insurance Account, and $519 to the <br /> Medicare Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: The Department of Public Works has taken over responsibility for maintenance of <br /> the Town's entire vehicle fleet. The fleet includes a total of 82 vehicles and various other small <br /> equipment such as tractors, mowers, etc. Prior to this change, vehicle maintenance in other <br /> departments —Police, Fire, Town Hall, Senior Center, and School Departments - was performed <br /> at outside garages or by private contractor. The change has resulted in significant savings for the <br /> Town, both in lower repair costs and shorter vehicle down time. There is currently one Mechanic <br /> 15 <br />
